What we collect
When you place an order through the online checkout and payment flow, you provide your name, WhatsApp number, delivery address, and pincode. This information — along with your order items and payment confirmation — is stored securely in our Firebase database (Google Cloud / Firestore, hosted in the asia-south1 region) so we can fulfil your order, match your payment against our bank statement, and arrange delivery via our courier partner.
If you use the WhatsApp-only checkout flow (on older versions or the Android app), your information is composed into a WhatsApp message and sent using your own WhatsApp app. In that case, we receive it only as a WhatsApp message and do not store it on any server we control.
How we use your data
Order data stored in Firebase is used exclusively for:
- Fulfilling your order and coordinating delivery
- Matching your UPI / bank payment against our bank statement
- Issuing tracking details via WhatsApp once dispatched
- Customer support if you contact us about an existing order
We do not sell, share, or use your data for marketing purposes.
Data sharing
Your delivery name, address, phone number, and pincode are shared with our courier partner (currently Delhivery) solely to generate a shipping label and arrange delivery. Beyond this, your data is not shared with any third party.
Cart data
Your cart is stored in your browser's local storage (or device storage on Android) so it survives page refreshes. It holds product IDs, names, and quantities — no personally identifiable information. It is never sent to us unless you complete checkout.
Wishlist & Shortlist Catalog Data
If you use our "Create a catalog" feature, your selected rakhis, custom catalog name, and WhatsApp number are stored locally inside your browser's local storage (under `an_wishlist_draft`) so you don't lose your work. When you share your shortlist, these details are encoded on-the-fly directly into a static URL (e.g., `/wishlist?ids=...&wa=...&name=...`).
We do not host or store your shortlist configurations, names, or shared details on any servers. They exist purely on your local device and inside the unique links you choose to share with your family.
Analytics & advertising tools
This website uses the following third-party tools. Each one may set cookies or collect device / browsing data as described in their own privacy policies:
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — tracks page views, session counts, and general browsing behaviour (anonymised). We use this to understand how many people visit the catalog and which products they view. Google Privacy Policy → You can opt out via Google Analytics Opt-out.
- Meta Pixel — used to measure the effectiveness of any Instagram / Facebook advertisements we run. It records when someone visits a page or takes an action (e.g., adds to cart) after seeing one of our ads. Meta Privacy Policy → You can manage your ad preferences at Facebook Ad Settings.
Neither tool is given your name, phone number, or delivery address. If you prefer not to be tracked, you can use a browser extension such as uBlock Origin or enable your browser's "Do Not Track" / "Block all cookies" setting.
Photography
Product photographs are processed using Google's Gemini AI API by the shop owner on their own device. Customer photos are never requested or stored by this website.
Data retention
Order records in our Firebase database are retained for a minimum of one year for accounting and dispute resolution purposes. Payment transaction references (UTR/transaction IDs you provide) are stored alongside your order record.
No accounts
We do not require you to create an account. There is no login or user profile. Your "My Orders" list is stored entirely in your browser's local storage on your device and is not synced to any server — it is private to your device and browser.
