Traditional rakhis carry the original spirit of Raksha Bandhan. Before kundan stones and meenakari enamel became popular, the festival was marked by a simple sacred thread — the mauli, the kalava, the resham silk band tied with love. These are those rakhis. Arihant Novelty's traditional range keeps that simplicity alive with silk threads, gold-tone charm accents, and the kind of careful hand-tying that no machine can replicate.

The traditional rakhis in this collection are made from fine silk and cotton threads, twisted and knotted in the Bikaner workshop by Sunder lal Daga — techniques passed down through decades of Rajasthani craftsmanship. Many designs feature small gold-tone deity motifs, auspicious symbols like the om or swastik, or clean geometric patterns in saffron and crimson — the colours of the festival itself. Each one leaves the workshop individually checked.

Who it's for

These are the rakhis that work for every brother — young or older, traditional or modern. A classic silk rakhi is never wrong. Lightweight enough to wear through the monsoon season, meaningful without being flashy, and priced so every sister can send one without compromise.

Buying guide

  • Silk thread holds better than synthetic on the wrist — our traditional rakhis use real silk where possible
  • Gold-tone metal charms are lacquered to resist tarnishing in humidity
  • Best for brothers who prefer understated, spiritual, or everyday designs
  • All traditional rakhis ship flat — they arrive looking exactly as they left the workshop

Every rakhi in this catalog is handmade by Sunder lal Daga in his Bikaner workshop — the same craft, the same hands, seven years of quiet dedication. Order by 20 August 2026 for guaranteed delivery before Raksha Bandhan.
